Such was the case for me when, on a recent stroll around the Old Village, I found my newest havens for beautiful art – namely, Charleston Artist Collective and Heart of Gold Gallery . Owners Allison Williamson and Aaron Zych, respectively, have provided residents of East Cooper and greater Charleston with an immeasurable amount of beauty. Years before Williamson opened the doors to Charleston Artist Collective, she was connecting with artists and art collectors over a marvelous little thing we call the internet. The business of showcasing art and sharing it with others came naturally to Williamson; in fact, she ran a gallery in Utah for five years. During that time, the idea of an online art hub occurred to her, and she’s never looked back. “I felt an online gallery model would be accessible and not intimidating for art collectors,” Williamson explained. “And, really, how frequently do people visit art galleries?
