Park West, Mount Pleasant

sunset in Mount Pleasant, SCPark West is a magnificent family-centered community, where the benefits of combining schools, recreational outlets, shops, offices and homes are clearly visible. Conveniently located on the north side of Mount Pleasant, one of South Carolina’s fastest-growing towns, Park West is more a village than housing development. It is a thriving community where you can live, work, play and even attend school without ever venturing out onto busy Highway 17.

Three Charleston County schools have been built within the gates of Park West in the past decade – Laurel Hill Primary, Charles Pinckney Elementary and Thomas C. Cario Middle School. Wando High School, which is among the largest high schools in the state, is nearby.

At the Park West Swim and Tennis Club, you and your family can enjoy tennis, volleyball, a Park West Entrance, Mount Pleasantjunior Olympic pool with a summer kitchen, a kiddie pool, a children’s playground and a multipurpose swimming pool that features a zero entry point at one end and an in-pool volleyball court at the other.

Other recreational outlets include approximately six miles of bike and hiking paths; 4.5 miles of meandering Toomer Creek; a crabbing dock at the park in the Masonborough section of Park West; and a business center chock-full of shopping and dining opportunities.

Though Park West is zoned for as many as 6,000 homes, developers chose instead to enhance the natural beauty of the area, dedicating 550 acres of saltwater marsh and freshwater wetlands that will remain in their current pristine state for generations to come.
